As of August 30th, my dog Molly was put to sleep.
She was an old lady of 14 years and lived a good life but I still can’t quite believe it happened.
To those who don’t own a dog, it can be hard to understand what its like when this happens, but a dog is a mans best friend. They are more than just a pet, they have personalities with likes and dislikes. They welcome you when you come home and make you feel better on your worst days without even saying anything.
I’m 21 years old and as stupid as it sounds, I would have liked to say my dog was my best friend. It’s heart breaking that she had to go, but it was for the best, she was in immense pain and just wasn’t herself towards her last days.
We rescued her from a bad owner who couldn’t look after her as she was in the tiniest house with too many other animals. She was weak and skinny and had mange which is a bad skin condition. She was near enough bald when we got her but she was still mine. The day we took her home she sat on my lap the entire way home and didn’t make a sound. I took this as happiness she was off to somewhere better but who knows.
Here are some photos of the old lady in her last days,
I love you Molls, hope your happy wherever you are <3
