Far Cry 3 is an open-world game which uses first-person shooter. It was developed and published by Ubisoft and is the third in the far cry series but isn’t a direct follow on from the first two games.
Set on a tropical Asian island, the story follows Jason who has escaped capture from estranged pirates who have kidnapped himself and his fellow friends after their boozy holiday goes wrong.
This is the first game I have played out of the far cry series, but with the recent release of the Far Cry 5 trailer it tempted me to try out one of the games, and with number 3 being the most popular I could hardly turn it down.
I am more than impressed with the characteristics in which this game carries and although the story is pretty basic there is a lot involved. The open world map is magnificently large for a Xbox 360 game, similar to the size of the fallout 4 map. The map created is very intelligent and offers many side quests such as the medic runs, radio towers, and pirate outposts to take down.
The scenery itself is very elegant and does make you feel as if you are on some Thai island through the depth of the clear water and animals you encounter. (bloody Komodo dragons!!) it is fair to say I am failing to put my controller down as with each complete mission I feel a wave of success well over.
There are no limits to what this game will allow you to do from zip lining, cave exploring, paragliding, hunting, crafting, I could go on and on.
I have played a majority of first person shooters in my gaming life but this one still continues to impress me. There is no feel of repetition and each mission differs from the next.
If you’re looking for something new to try I highly recommend!
Let me know if you have played any of the others I would be interested to hear how they differ from number 3.
