More than music: Kasabian Live

As I quite often go to a lot of gigs I thought it was worth starting a new series called More than Music, where I review each gig I have been too.

So far this year I have 5 more gigs lined up on top of the 3 I have already been to and 2 festivals, so it should keep me buys for a while!

On December 8 I saw Kasabian live at Areana Birmingham with two of my friends. It was a birthday present for my 21st.

I have seen Kasabian live before, the first time was at Cardiff Motorpoint arena and as my first standing gig I had a panic attack and ended up sitting in the toilet for the rest of the show. I then saw them this year headlining Reading Festivals main stage which you can read about here.  This time it was a much more enjoyable experience and got me absolutely buzzing to see them live.

The warm up act was slaves which I was less than impressed with. It just sounded like a very angry shouty man who had too many beers and thought he could play the drums. Some people like it but it just wasn’t my cup of tea. After a little wait, Kasabian came on and just as they did at Reading they did justice. All the songs they played were complete hits while also having a set list that may not have been expected as they had changed it up a bit compared to some of the other shows they were performing.

They interacted with the crowd quite a lot which is great because it really gets you jumping up and down, The crowd was tame as mosh pits would open up but then kind of settle down. Perfect for me when I’m quite small and easily injured!

All in all it was a sick gig and I would happily welcome another tour anytime soon!

Whats your most memorable gig?

Lots of love,

Let me know what you thought of this post!
