Hey guys,
Hope you’re all well. If you’re interested I’m going to take you through the few days of how I moved out into the flat I bought!
When you buy a flat it is a long process of solicitors and paperwork and more money going out your bank then coming in. Luckily for me I was not in a chain of properties being sold so I got the keys to my flat at 10:30am!!! that time is unheard of but I got very lucky.
me and my friends packed up the cars and four trips later managed to unpack all boxes, but most importantly we started with the coffee machine- duh! It didn’t take long as my flats not too big but we fitted everything in perfectly and finished the day off with a shopping trip.
Now I’m not gonna lie food shopping is no fun especially when you are aiming to feed one. Β It’s ridiculous how easy food goes off. I want to aim to go shopping every two weeks but in reality there’s no chance, how does one person adult without having to go shopping every week it’s SO boring???
Once we went shopping the next few days involved settling in and sorting out my stuff properly, but hey fun story, guess whos power cut out half 8 in the evening four days after moving in??? ya huh you guessed it MINE. what makes it worse is that I was in the shower with soapy hair and my dad didn’t answer the phone. It turns out I have to top up my electric with a key but I was never left one here at the flat so hows a girl supposed to know if she’s never seen it before?? But hey its all a learning curve and I’m staying on top of it all now.
The cleanings not too bad if you do little and often and washing doesn’t need doing too often but it does take a while to dry.
Living on your own so far hasn’t been too bad, I’ve had plenty of company and having the space is nice. I finally got a sofa after two weeks of sitting on the floor and today I’m off to get some plants. There are still some key finishes I want to do so will get a blog post up this week with some pictures.
Hopefully I’ll be able to keep on top of it this time! (she says fingers crossed)
Lotsoflove,
sophiemagsx

05/02/2018 at 4:17 pmThe process of moving sucks, that’s for sure. I really wish it wasn’t such a pain. Still, there’s nothing better than sitting down in a house/apartment made into your home!

12/02/2018 at 12:02 pmIf it helps, I never shop with a grocery list. That means I ALWAYS forget things and have just made my peace with being at the grocery store two-to-three times a week :). Yes, it’s the path of least resistance (and most driving/shopping) but it works!

12/02/2018 at 12:35 pmhahah yeaah I don’t think I can go down that route!! ittakes up too much time π

12/02/2018 at 2:39 pmOh you shouldn’t go down this route! It can be frustrating and brutal :). BUT since I can’t ever remember to be more efficient I’ve just made my peace with it. However I wish you luck in finding a more balanced way! May the Force be with you.
