I want to start this little episode in the latest series by saying a little something. I have been to countless gigs. Big venues, small intimate gigs, pub bands and big festivals, but I have never once cried at live music.
Imagine Dragons on February 24 ย broke me.
Their music is all about emotion but is upbeat and steady and passionate and even if your into sci fi opera I guarantee you can find a song you will enjoy because you can’t help but fall in love with their sound. I’ve seen them live four times, and each time it has been filled with overwhelming emotion but never to the point where I have cried. But Dan Reynolds (the lead singer) did a speech I hadn’t heard before about the power that anxiety takes over you and the voices in your head. He talked about how although you may not feel right, or think a certain way it doesn’t mean your broken and we all have to look after each other , and that was it. I broke. My friends broke, and the entire arena broke. 40,000 people fixated on one man lifting us all up high.
It was incredible. I never felt so much emotion and passion in each and every song and it brought the entire show to light, and made me feel love.
That is what music is about, bringing people together, for fun, for experiences and for love.
If you ever get the opportunity to see them perform, I highly recommend it. They are one of my favourite bands, and they didn’t disappoint and I would even say it was one of the best performances I’ve seen!
Thank you for listening,
Sophiemagsx
