The con of an iPhone

Hey guys,

A little something for you today. I want to talk about iPhones, just a general chat really.

Out of curiosity, how many of you have an iPhone? I do and i’ve had one now for 6/7 years. I remember the first iPhone I had and it was so…. basic. But it did everything we could have ever dreamed about and more and it still does.

Now as of this weekend my contract is up and of course I will be upgrading my iPhone6 to an iPhone 7 but if you ask me why I don’t know to be honest. Every time I go to upgrade my phone I say I will change to android, but my eyes get lost in the shiny little apple logo and that’s it I’m walking away with the latest iPhone.

iPhones are great phones. The ability to face time is super fun and very useful at showing off your outfit to your pals, plus their emojis are lot nicer than that of androids. They are beautiful handsets and do a sick job at being a phone, but jeeez they are a complete pile of crap. The battery dies ridiculously fast all the time, the screen smashes easily even with a protector on and they have no storage what so ever. Not to mention that they just randomly restart when they feel like it and never do as there told and they are SO EXPENSIVE. Buying a handset outright or even contract costs a ridiculous amount. Every single time I go to upgrade my phone I tell myself  that I am refusing to put myself through the pain of having an iPhone again and then it just kinda happens!

But HOW, how on earth did Steve Jobs convince us to invest in this product. Getting a new iPhone is easy. You plug it in and it downloads everything you had on your other phone and bang simple. I don’t know about you but it is so much effort to download everything again and log into all your apps etc.

I don’t  know how the big bosses at apple have managed to convince millions of people to invest in such a crap product but we invest our lives in these and would be lost without it. I take my hat off to your Steve Jobs, as rubbish as the iPhone is I will remain a loyal customer.

What are your thoughts on the iPhone, I would be interested to know!

Lots of love,

Ooo this is a tricky one! I used to be rather anti-Apple, but I was so fed up of countless problems with Windows laptops and Android/Windows phones that I made the leap to a second hand iPhone about 2 years ago. From then on, I went to MacBook (perfect, no problems unlike daily issues with my Windows laptops) and another iPhone… iPhones I’ve bought outright and cheaply enough compared to their RRP. It does bug me that everything HAS to be Apple in terms of hardware and software like iTunes, but that’s how they get you. I still dislike that side of things, but I can’t fault the products so now I’m hooked… x

I just upgraded to an 8, and there is so much more storage, I love it. But honestly, as long as the WordPress app works on this phone I don’t really care about much else.

I switched from an iPhone 4s to a Samsung A3 four years ago now and still have the same phone as I love it so much! My apple had the WORST battery life (you just couldn’t trust it) and also the storage issue was really annoying. With my Samsung I’ve added an SD card for extra storage, even after 4 years my battery consistently lasts until the end of the day and I haven’t got any damage to the phone except a few tiny broken pixels, would 11/10 recommend📱 I feel like this is a really common issue though, gradually more and more people are realising iPhones aren’t the best on the market but still keep going back for the newer model!

I’ve had my iPhone 5S since 2013 and it’s still going strong 5 years later! Hasn’t got a single scratch or crack on it and it still works brand new – the only problem I have are the apple chargers! xx

Agreed! I honestly, don’t like my phone. For me, phones have turned into this unnecessary distraction that pulls us away from our true lives and prevents the act of living. They’ve turned into this need to live and I think that’s what Steve jobs wanted. To create a product that satisfies all your needs and wants. And that’s what he did. He created a product that is literally your need. Your life line. Your need for survival.
