Stiff Little Fingers are a punk rock band from Belfast which came about in 1977.
They are not the type of music I would usually listen to as the punk music genre can be quite hit or miss sometimes, but this band has followed around the likes of The Clash, ACDC and Limp Bizkit so they are one I thought not to miss.
I saw them in a small arena, at the O2 academy in Bristol and we were right near the front of the stage. Both the warm up act, The rocks, and SLF were superb to watch and despite the small crowd they really lifted up everyone’s spirits.
Considering I hardly knew their music and didn’t know what to expect the blew the roof of the place with every man moshing and jumping the night away. I was by far the youngest, shortest, least tattooed person there but even I had a little headbang, which was hard to resist. Although their music can be political or about the economy, they take a subject that could be quite boring and make you want to sing your heart out about it.
Overall it was a hardcore show, and it just goes with out saying it’s always worth listening to new music because you never know what to expect!
Any bands you can reccomend that you didnt realise were actually super?
Let me know in the comments so i can check them out!
Lots of love,
