It is Wednesday my dudes.
On Sunday, I posted a blog in my latest edition in my series More Than Music, where I saw The Wombats live. For this event, we got an air bnb in Nottingham as it is two hours away from our usual location.
If you don’t know Air bnb, it is where people put their house up on a site to advertise that others can stay. It’s different from hotels or hostels as they are usually people’s homes that have spare rooms to rent out or have a holiday home somewhere they want occupying. Having a home to rent is very convenient and air bnb tends to be quite cheap. (obviously depending on where you book).
Staying in Nottingham was my first air bnb experience. When we booked the place, it was incredibly cheap, and quite close to the town centre. It was kinda too cheap if that makes sense, so before we got there we were super worried we would end up at some dodgy house or something rough. The place itself was actually beautiful, very well-kept and very trendy. It turns out it was so cheap because this was the first time the homeowner used air bnb and we were the first guests!
I really appreciated all the little touches like sweets in the bedroom, and face wipes in the bathroom. Breakfast was also laid out for us. It was very welcoming.
The host was lovely and had top knowledge of the area. Due to being at a gig it meant we didn’t get back to till like 1am but she didn’t mind and we were super quiet. We had to check out by 10am, but that was fine as we grabbed a very hung over Frankie and bennys breakfast in the morning, I had bacon and waffles it WAS SO DAMN GOOD !!!
All in all, I’m super impressed, we got very lucky with the price, but generally Air bnb is quite cheap. The location was a two-minute drive to town and the house was very lovely. You have got to be careful when you choose a place and always remember to check the photos, but they are perfect for travellers and quick stays.
Whats your experience with Air bnb like, or is there any other websites you can recommend?
Lots of love,
