I have now been blogging for a year. WHAT. Thats mad, crazy, I can’t believe it and I nearly have 400 hundred of you following me!
Over the last year or so, the blogging community has opened my mind to many things and what I love…. heres a few I want to share with you:
- You are never alone
Just been through a break up, new job, moving out, bad anxiety, or going through a mid life crisis and mental breakdown about a lost sock? don’t worry I guarantee there is a blog for that. Thats what I love abut this site, no matter how silly the rant, there are so many incredible people who don’t judge you for you and offer the support and encouragement which is needed.
- Grammar matters
After editing my blog posts and triple reading every single one, even the most chattiest of blogs needs the correct grammar for your readers to understand what you are talking about. This is something I have also incorporated into my everyday life including work emails and even just general messages. Checking your grammar is important for efficient communication.
- How to
From this website I have taught myself, new recipes, DIY’s, present making, photography skills, literature skills. It’s all available at the palm of your hand and so casually explained with no pressure to get it right. Make and adapt things how you want and the way you want to.
- Confidence
There have been many times where I will write a silly little post about how crap my day was, or how mad I am playing some game, and think no one cares but I want to share it anyway, and to my surprise people care! Having this blog has taught me to have more confidence in what I have to say and how I handle myself as a person. Not only that but its helped me reflect that onto others because nothing beats the feeling of support.
- Communication is key
Interacting with other bloggers is very important to show you care about your audience and what they have to offer. Without this interaction, not only do you write blindly, but you lack the enthusiasm and care of others by no offering them the same support. It is important to communicate with your followers, whether this be through replying to comments, commenting on their posts or following their insta.
Whats the best thing you’ve learnt from blogging?
Lots of love,
Sophiemagsx

03/07/2018 at 2:45 amAwww, yay! Congrats on the Bloggiversary! That’s exciting! As to the best thing I’ve learned from blogging…hmm. That’s a good question. I think it’s the brilliant bonding that comes from seeing how many people are interested in the same weird, nerdy, fun stuff I am. I never would have thought my random musings would form real relationships with people but here we are! Now I couldn’t imagine not blogging and I don’t know what I used to do before I started :).
