WHAT A WEEKEND!
Damn, im still in awe three days later writing this.
This was our first time experiencing YNOT? Festival as we usually head for the larger rock and roll base at Reading festival. (read more here)
YNOT? fest is based in the windy rainy peak district up north in England, and is known as the festival where great people are brought together for a great time while enjoying a panoramic view. (taken from the website) That for sure is one thing that did not disappoint, boy the view. Reading, Glastonbury, Community, Boardmasters, every festival did not come close the views of the Peak District.
First up in this post,(and probably one of the most important part of any festival)- FOOOOOOOD!! I am always one to judge a festival on its food, they had the BEST paella ever, the BIGGEST Yorkshire puddings, and the most BEAUTIFUL Mac n Cheese ever, oh man I miss that Mac n cheese.
So next up, the line up– it is a smaller festival, half the price of reading (sorry ive been to reading a lot its my main comparison ok) so it’s obviously half the line up. But in all fairness it is the best of a bad bunch, and the the line up was pretty solid. I saw the likes of Razorlight, The Amazons, Circa Waves, The Sherlocks, Kaiser Chiefs, Catfish and The Bottlemen and The Wombats. What is stupidly shit however is the ending of Jamiroquai. Last year I believe the festival got cancelled bcus of rain so obviously they were on high alert this year and with torrential rain and super winds at night, a few acts got cancelled, some delayed, and most annoyingly, Jamiroquai got stopped. IT HARDLY FUCKING RAINED. Seriously we had 3 nights of torrential rain, and a few spits in the day but the minute a spot of rain hit JQ they pulled them off stage. The last act of the weekend, ended without perfect reasoning. Complete bore and we were really enjoying a proper little boogie.
Apart from the gutted ending, the festival was a blast with a silent disco, paint fight, hammocks, magnors manor and the coolest saloon bar ever. What a groovy way to end July…
Hope you’re all enjoying my festival posts, any particular festival fav of yours?
Keep on dancing….
