Review: Ant Man and The Wasp

September 9, 2018

NO SPOILERS…

Marvel fans of the internet, today I call you in for the latest review of the marvel franchise…

The sequel to the much-loved, Ant Man.

In all honesty, when I watched Ant Man, I hardly paid attention and it wasn’t necessarily  a movie that caught my eye when the second one came out.

I did enjoy watching this film, and it is very light-hearted, family friendly fun, but in all honestly, it was a tad boring. Theres only so much damage a small ant and wasp can do, and maybe I shouldn’t be so glazed by the whole thing, but after movies full of destruction from Marvel, it was fair to say I am disappointed at the lack of mess and chaos caused by Ant Man and The Wasp.

The storyline, is a very simple, and does the job in leading into the next Avengers movie, and once again Marvel does not disappoint with its added humour. They always seem to do just the right amount. I feel like after watching this film, It wouldn’t have made a difference if I had missed it as I haven’t really gained anything new out of it.

One thing I will say however is the cut scene. OH DAMN. Feels all over again. There are two cut scenes so make sure you stick around…

Overall, if you are a die-hard marvel fan through and through, check it out definitely, but if you’re expecting something, don’t expect much. Although I did watch this movie twice so maybe its not too bad…

What are your thoughts?

Lots of love,

Sophiemagsx

I get what you’re saying. After Infinity Wars and Civil Wars and Ragnaroks this is a bit of a low key entry. But I would say I enjoyed it, in part, because of it’s smaller scale. I was a bit overwhelmed by ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and, while every bit as epic as it promised it would be, I felt like ‘Infinity War’ was a three hour fight scene. It never lets up! So, for me, ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp’ was a welcome return to the earlier days of the MCU with a story with a smaller focus. In that way, it was a fun flashback movie for me.
