My favourite books of Mindfulness

January 30, 2019

Wednesday is upon us!

Does anyone else feel like January is more like Jaaaaaannnnnnnuuuuuuuarrrrrrryyyyy because it just drags. Yawn im bored now, I want sun and heat on my back and to not have to wear layers upon layers!

Last year was a challenge for me when it came to my mental health, a lot of things tested how far I could handle it and because of this I began therapy again. One of the main things for 2019 I wanted to embrace on the back of this was self-care.

Self care  for everyone can be different but mine involves reading. taking the time for my brain to focus on something other than everyone else.!

Below are my fav books to help with mindfulness and self-care that I own!

  • This was an obvious one. Fearne Cotton’s book of Calm.
This book is great because it has areas which apply to every angle in your life and parts for you to write in too. She is so incredible when it comes to writing and makes even the craziest of situations seem calm. I also have the Calm Journal and although I absolutely adore it, I prefer the calm book to hear about Fearne’s Experiences.

  • Next up Ruby Wax Mind of the Frazzled.
This book is honestly hilarious, and in Rubys crazy life and all she has experienced she turns it into humour and how she has gotten through her anxiety and depression. This was the first mindfulness book I ever read and its one of my absolute favs. It’s nice to have a twist of humour on such a raw topic.

  • An odd one for the list, but my 2019 Diary. I bought this from Paperchase, and at the beginning of every month it is filled with a little health MOT, what Is your focus for the month and a cute little quote to get you going. Sometimes its the little things in life and reading something like this simple and sweet make all the difference.

  • Thought a day.
I take this little book absolutely everywhere with me. It has 3 years worth of thoughts for you to write down every day. I am always one who loves to write and in a little moment of stress sometimes its nice to vent. I’ve been using it since January and it’s already great to look back at and read!

That was just a little sample of my collection, and I am always keen to read more, so if you have any recommendations, please let me know in the comments!

Lots of Love

Eugh yes, bring on the summer!! I’m sick of so many layers & still being freezing cold too. I’ve recently read Happy by Fearne Cotton so I’d be interested in checking out Calm. Great selection, perfect for self-care & snuggly days at home 🙂
    Caz xx

January really did seem to drag, didn’t it? So glad it’s over! This is a beautiful collection of books. I have a similar book where you write a single thought a day. 🙂 Thanks for sharing your collection with us!
