Whats happening guys!
I am so excited to share the latest edition in my More Than Music series with you as I recently checked out The Wurzels.
This band, you probably wouldn’t have heard of if you aren’t from the south-west, west country part of England. They are a unique band, known for their farmer accents to sing songs about cider and combine harvester being their most popular. All in all it is complete hysterics and pure entertainment every time they performed.
I saw the band quite locally to me at Gloucester Guildhall, with a couple hundred of other people. It was a small room and we were close enough to the band but boy it was hot! There was cider drinking, plenty of dad dancing and all round laughter.
I can honestly say I never thought a group of elderly men singing about cider and farming would be so fun but it was easily one of the funniest gigs I have ever been to, and I have been to plenty! The show was incredibly entertaining, the crowd was cool and calm and even if you didn’t know the songs word for word The Wurzels dragged you into their lifestyle.
Please do take the time to check out, Combine Harvester by The Wurzels, because it completely reflects what its like to live in the West country in England and I guarantee you will not have heard anything quite like it before.
Next up I’ll be seeing the band I have been eagerly excited to see for a while now called, Ladybird. It will be chaos and a complete change to The Wurzels. My body and soul are ready!
Are there any intriguing bands you could recommend for me?
Lots of love,
