More Than Music: Circa Waves @ Bristol 02 Academy

I am absolutely buzzing with euphoria as Circa Waves dominated last night. It was absolute carnage from start to finish and my body and soul combined are in complete awe of this experience.

I have seen Circa Waves many a time, at PLENTY of festivals, all the way back in 2015 at Boardmasters when they first released their new album all the way to Reading, YNOT, and Community fest. I am obsessed with this band and their music, so when I heard they would be performing at Bristol 02 academy this was an opportunity NOT to be missed.

Their music is happy, emotional, powerful and most importantly, high quality mosh pit madness and there was plenty of that last night!

Because the Bristol academy is quite small, and from previous experiences of seeing the band live before, I knew it was going to be messy, and boy the guys did not disappoint.

Sweat dripping from every inch of my body, I felt so alive.

I also just want to say, how friggin proud I am of the band. When I first saw Circa Waves it was the 2pm slot at Boardmasters back in 2015. They had just released their first album and were still a bit unknown to the world. I had discovered them through the BBC’s Spotify of new music and I still remember the show then. How exciting it was and how they made one of the hottest days of 2015, even hotter. To go from that to selling out a tour and carrying festival line ups over the last 4 years makes me SO proud.

A band who not only carry so much calmness and summery vibes who provide an unforgettable experience through chaos.

The only wave I wanna be riding is that of Circa Waves.

Only two gigs left of gig season, next up I have Catfish and the Bottleman, but I’ll back at 02 academy in two weeks for Sam Fender, and then its the second best time of year behind Gig season… FESTIVAL SEASON!!!

Lots of love,

Omg you came to Bristol?! That’s where I am from! The academy is so small and dingy, but I think the messy venues are always the most fun hahaha xx
