Saving the planet one step at a time

Happy Sunday Folks!

As we are all aware, the entire globe is on a eco warrior hype at the minute and I love it. Everyone is trying their best to do what they can in reducing carbon emissions, plastic in the ocean and waste!

I have always been one to try and do what I can where possible, but recently I watched the David Attenborough documentary, Our Planet, on Netflix, in which there was a VERY traumatising scene with Walruses. I won’t go into it but it made me an emotional wreck. (Surprise surprise)

So ever since I have been on mission SAVE THE WALRUSES, my life has included saving every animal I see from nearly being hit by a car, planting wild flowers for bees, reusing where possible, and buying products with minimal plastic! The whole point of this post was to show you some of the most recent purchases I have made which will help me contribute to saving the planet.

First up- my new Sandwich wrap!
This little thing reduced the need for plastic bags, is biodegradable, used from recycled materials, and can be easily washed and reused numerous times. You can buy a variety of sizes and also snack bags! Plus its cute! It unwraps with Velcro and you fold it into whatever shape you like, the inside is waterproof too!

Halo face wipe! This is basically a reusable face wipe, it only needs water to take your make up off and does it so quickly and easily. The fibres leave your face feeling soft and refreshed, and can be washed with warm water. Not only does this reduce on face wipes that takes ages to breakdown, but saves you money! This Halo Face wipe cost me £7 which is the equivalent as to what I would spend on face wipes every 3 months!!

Mooncup! Now don’t freak out, I know what y’all ladies are thinking, its a gross concept, but lets be honest, Periods are not pretty, or comfortable, so if we’re gonna have one we might swell do it and save the planet to! The Moon cup is a reusable sanitary product that collects the period and can be washed and reused as many times as you like. Nothing leaks out and its super easy to put in and take out. Tampons and pads are not cheap and are also not biodegradable so BUY ONE!!!!

The last little thing I wanted to show you, was not something I have bought, but something I have started making. This is an eco brick. They are plastic bottles, filled with nonrecylable plastics that don’t break down and are used by charities to build houses for the poor. Their lack of breakdown, provides a good insulation in properties and are cheap to make. Check out the website below for your local drop off point and how easy they are to make! I’m trying to not put a bin out for a month! Eco brick Website

Thats all I have for today, this was a bit longer than usual, but please feel free to leave any more suggestions below as to how you contribute to saving the planet!

Lots of love,
