Moving thoroughly onto the second episode of my Budapest fairytale, I am sharing with you today the Budapest baths!
Budapest AKA City of the Spa’s is very well known for its natural spa’s and thermal waters with temperatures up to 38 degrees. There are many in Budapest so when it came to choosing which ones we went to, we had to do our research!
We chose to go to the spa’s on the cooler days because lets be honest who wants to sit in boiling hot water when its also boiling hot outside. The first spa we went to was the Gellert thermal bath. This site is known for its rich aesthetic and beauty inside. Gold pillars across the rooms, pools fit for royalty, these baths were delicate and tasteful.
I’m not really a person for sitting around so we didn’t stay for more than a few hours but it was such a treat, the building was beautiful and I must admit it was my favourite out of the two we visited.
The second spa we visited were the Széchenyi thermal baths, the largest baths in Budapest. The yellow dreamy brick work is a site worth seeing and provides for that perfect Instagram. This spa was a complete maze, and in all honestly was a bit more of a rubbish experience compared to the other, we were accused of stealing towels and it just put a complete downer on the whole thing!! But however so, still a beautiful experience.
After leaving the spas, the natural thermal waters leave your skin feeling amazing, your pores are opened and its like you have been in a warm hug all morning, England definitely need more baths!
Have you ever been to something similar?
Lots of love,
