Christmas decorations for first timers.

December 17, 2019

Merry Christmas everyone!

I am completely enjoying this festive spirit currently, with plenty of Christmas shopping trips, Christmas movies, and of course Christmas decs.As it is my last year in my flat, I made sure I got my Christmas tree up nice and early, November the 30th infact. Last year I previously purchased a real Christmas tree, but this year I opted to buy a fake one so I could ensure every year it gets used and also save the cost of buying a Christmas tree every year!

As it is my last year in my flat, I made sure I got my Christmas tree up nice and early, November the 30th infact. Last year I previously purchased a real Christmas tree, but this year I opted to buy a fake one so I could ensure every year it gets used and also save the cost of buying a Christmas tree every year! I thought I would take the tme to show you some of the decorations I had purchased to help fill out my little festive grottoe.

One main thing with Christmas is that last yar, being my first year in a flat, it meant I had to start from scratch with Christmas decorations, and although not expensive individually, all together they add up to quite the price.

So first up on this years Christmas purchase was a few little hanging decs to spice up the flat. When i have a bigger place I aim to get more but this little bit will do for now! We have a little beaded edition, and a light up heart, because fairy lights make all the difference!

The next set of tree decorations were from John Lewis. £7.00 may be considered a lot of money for tree decorations but how could i not?! They are so cute and will hopefully last me a while!

I also ensured I topped up the rest of my tree with boxes of decorations which you can buy from any supermarket. Tescos, Sainsburys etc are the best for when it comes to basics.

This year I wanted to ensure I had a few more pieces you can put on shelves etc, so I took myself down to The range for a little shop and purchased these items. The mouse was actually a tree decoration but I broke the hanger, but look how cute it looks on my shelf! Mouse: £3.00, Owl dec £4.00

As mentioned its my last year in my little studio flat and I am already pinteresting ideas to make a bigger better Christmas with more space next year. I hope you found this post useful for little odd bits you can buy if you are starting fresh with Christmas decorations.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas,

Lots of love,

Sophiemagsx

These are so cute! Love that picture of your doggo in front of the tree, I do that with mine every year and he always looks so done with me as I make him stand in front of the tree to take pictures 🤦🏻‍♀️ but it has to be done! I swear John Lewis always have the prettiest decorations. There’s a nutcracker on our tree too which is one of my favourites, it’s wooden and his little mouth moves! xx
